Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience working with preschool-aged children and a strong understanding of early childhood development
- Knowledge of IEP processes and ability to implement individualized learning strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and specialists
- Ability to create an inclusive, positive, and patient classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and adapt lesson plans that cater to each child’s individual needs while aligning with early childhood standards
- Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records, sharing updates with families and colleagues
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
- Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in special education
