Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children and a strong understanding of early childhood development
  • Knowledge of IEP processes and ability to implement individualized learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with parents, staff, and specialists
  • Ability to create an inclusive, positive, and patient classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adapt lesson plans that cater to each child’s individual needs while aligning with early childhood standards
  • Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster a nurturing environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
  • Assess student progress and maintain accurate records, sharing updates with families and colleagues
  • Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers to ensure cohesive support
  • Participate in professional development and ongoing training to stay updated on best practices in special education
