Step into a rewarding opportunity guiding elementary learners as a Special Education Teacher (Part-Time, K-5) for the upcoming school year. Located near Bridgeport, CT, this contract role is set to begin in mid-September 2026 and will extend through June 2027. You’ll be supporting students in a pull-out resource classroom, serving as a vital resource to help them grow academically and socially.

This position consists of 15 hours per week, offering an excellent balance for those seeking flexibility while making a significant impact. In recognition of your expertise and dedication, compensation ranges from $37 to $47 per hour.

Qualifications and Required Experience:

  • Current Connecticut certification in Special Education PK-12 (endorsement 165). DSAP licenses will not be considered.
  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with elementary grades K-5.
  • Ability to design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) aligned to student needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with resource/pull-out classroom models.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized instruction and academic support to elementary students in a pull-out setting.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to monitor and support student progress.
  • Adapt lessons and interventions to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain all required documentation and contribute to IEP planning and meetings.
  • Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
