Special Education Teacher - Resource (Push-in/Pull-Out) - 4th-8th Grade

Position Overview
Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for an onsite education industry position in Bridgeport, CT. This is a 2026–2027 school year contract opportunity serving students in either 4th/5th grade or 7th/8th grade, depending on the candidate’s experience and placement. The position offers a collaborative school environment with a manageable caseload and dedicated time for planning, progress monitoring, and IEP development.

Location and Schedule
This position is located in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with a schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM EST. The daily schedule includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break, and the anticipated assignment runs from ASAP through June 7, 2027. The hourly pay range is $40–$55 per hour, with compensation determined based on experience, education, and qualifications.

Classroom Setting and Caseload
The teacher will work primarily within a resource setting, providing scheduled small-group instruction and individualized support through a mostly pull-out model. Some push-in services will also be provided when appropriate based on student needs and classroom schedules. The caseload is approximately 12–15 students, allowing for lower student numbers while supporting learners who require substantial service minutes.

Responsibilities
The Special Education Teacher will provide targeted academic and instructional support through scheduled resource groups while collaborating with general education staff to address student needs. Responsibilities include providing push-in assistance when necessary, monitoring student progress, maintaining appropriate documentation, and developing and implementing IEPs. The teacher will also oversee and supervise paraprofessionals assigned to support students and help coordinate services throughout the school day.

School Environment
The school serves students from pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, with approximately 65 students receiving special education services. The selected teacher may be assigned to either the 4th/5th grade or 7th/8th grade level based on staffing needs and the candidate’s background. Teachers typically have flexibility in building their service schedules while receiving designated time for preparation, progress monitoring, and IEP responsibilities.

Requirements
Candidates must hold an active Connecticut teaching license with either the 165 Special Education or 265 Special Education certification. Qualified applicants should have experience supporting students with disabilities and be comfortable working within a resource-based service model. Candidates must also be able to provide direct instruction, collaborate with school personnel, and effectively manage assigned paraprofessional support.

This is a 26’27 school year contract position through Soliant Education with an hourly pay range of $40–$55.
