Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting the growth and success of K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher in Connecticut. This full-time contract position is slated to begin ASAP and extend through June 8, 2027, offering 37.5 hours per week with opportunities in both resource and self-contained classroom settings.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut teaching license: Must hold either a 165 or 265 Special Education certification
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
  • Ability to provide individualized instruction and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, specialized instruction to K-12 students in resource or self-contained settings
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), monitoring student progress and making adjustments as needed
  • Manage student caseloads and ensure timely completion of required documentation
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to create effective educational experiences
  • Communicate with families regarding student goals, progress, and strategies for success
  • Attend required meetings and maintain compliance with school and district policies
