Resource Special Education Teacher - Bridgeport, CT

Soliant Education is hiring an onsite Resource Special Education Teacher in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This education industry position is a 2026-2027 school year contract with an ASAP start date and an expected end date of 6/7/2027. The schedule is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. EST, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Position Overview

This role will support students in either 4th and 5th grade or 7th and 8th grade, depending on candidate experience and school placement needs. The classroom setting is resource-based, with some push-in support and a heavier focus on pull-out services. Teachers are typically able to build their own schedule and are given time for planning, progress monitoring, and IEP writing.

Caseload and School Setting

The caseload is expected to include approximately 12-15 students who require a significant amount of service minutes. The school keeps caseload numbers lower while still maintaining a full and active schedule for special education staff. The building serves students from PK-8th grade and has approximately 65 students receiving special education services.

Responsibilities

The Resource Special Education Teacher will provide scheduled pull-out instruction and push-in classroom support when needed. Responsibilities include delivering specially designed instruction, monitoring student progress, maintaining IEP documentation, and collaborating with general education teachers and school staff. This educator will also oversee and supervise paraprofessionals as part of the student support team.

Requirements

Applicants must hold an active Connecticut Special Education certification with either the 165 or 265 endorsement. The school district is not considering DSAP teachers for this opening. Candidates should have strong IEP management skills, experience supporting students in a resource setting, and the ability to manage service minutes across a structured weekly schedule.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this contract position is $40-$54 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. Soliant Education offers weekly pay along with benefits that include health, dental, and vision insurance. Eligible employees may also participate in a 401k plan.
