Special Education Teacher in Bridgeport, TX

Step into an impactful role supporting students’ growth as a Special Education Teacher in a thriving school community near Bridgeport, TX. We're seeking dedicated professionals interested in contract, full-time work to support students during maternity and sick leaves. There are two immediate needs: one at the elementary level supporting life skills for younger students, and a second covering high school students beginning in November—with the opportunity for a qualified candidate to seamlessly transition between both assignments.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Proven experience working with students requiring life skills support
• Confidence and skill in adapting curriculum for K-2nd grade or high school populations
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with support staff, families, and related service providers

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ goals and abilities
• Modify lessons and use adaptive techniques to meet diverse learning needs
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate for students with varying medical and developmental needs
• Track progress, document outcomes, and participate in team meetings
• Collaborate with parents, therapists, and school teams to maximize student success
• For candidates interested in both roles, begin supporting elementary life skills (K-2, four students) then transition to high school life skills (five students)

Assignment Details:

• Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:15 AM to 3:30 PM
• Immediate start; assignment lengths may extend, with some positions lasting until permanent hires are made or the end of the school year
