This contract position for the 26/27 school year is designed for a skilled Special Education Teacher ready to make a meaningful impact at the high school level. With a manageable caseload of approximately 10 students (grades 9-12), you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the academic and personal growth of each learner.
Work hours are 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours per week. The caseload may adjust as needs evolve, offering a dynamic and engaging environment. Interviews are scheduled as soon as possible, so prompt applicants will have an advantage.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP process and compliance
- Ability to differentiate instruction and manage a range of learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with families, staff, and administration
- Creative problem-solving and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for a diverse caseload
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for students with varied learning needs
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and encouraging classroom setting
- Conduct progress monitoring and maintain accurate documentation
