Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Special Education Teaching Certification (Early Childhood focus preferred)
- Previous experience teaching or supporting preschool or early elementary-aged children with special needs
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and best practices in special education
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Passion for early childhood education and ability to adapt to varied learning styles
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor effective IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, classroom assistants, and family members
- Use evidence-based teaching strategies to support cognitive, social, and emotional growth
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates regularly
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development opportunities, and team planning sessions
- Cultivate a positive, supportive, and structured classroom to empower every learner
