Special Education Teacher | Brighton, Colorado

This position supports a self-contained Special Education classroom for Kindergarten students with Significant Support Needs (SSN) at an elementary school near Brighton, CO. You’ll be welcomed by a collaborative team, including 2-3 paraprofessionals, all focused on providing a nurturing and structured environment. The role is onsite, with a consistent Tuesday through Friday schedule, giving you Mondays off for work-life balance.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active CDE Special Education licensure required
• Previous experience in a self-contained classroom supporting students with significant needs
• Background working with elementary-age children, ideally in a specialized support setting
• Strong collaborative skills to work closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Commitment to differentiated instruction and individualized education plans

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a classroom of 6–13 Kindergarten students with significant support needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom management and student support
• Cultivate a supportive, inclusive learning environment that encourages each child’s progress
• Engage with families and caregivers to foster home-school communication and support student success
