Embark on a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher serving elementary students with mild to moderate needs. Located near Brighton, CO, this opportunity involves supporting students at an onsite elementary setting for the full academic year, from August 20, 2026, through June 3, 2027. You’ll play a vital role in guiding students to reach their potential while collaborating with a passionate school team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Colorado Department of Education Special Education (CDE SPED) licensure.
- Previous experience working with elementary-aged students in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and compliance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with teachers, specialists, and families.
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet a range of student abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a mild to moderate caseload of elementary students.
- Develop, implement, and track individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with district and state requirements.
- Provide small group and individualized instruction based on student needs.
- Collect data and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Partner with general education teachers to support student inclusion and success.
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, families, and related service providers.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and required trainings.
This role offers a four-day work week (Tuesday–Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm), allowing for an extended weekend every Monday. As an onsite contract position, you’ll experience consistent scheduling and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the school community.
