Step into a fulfilling role working with young adults as a Transitions Intensive Special Education Teacher. This full-time position (37.5 hours per week, 8am–4pm) focuses on supporting 18- to 21-year-old students at a dedicated transitions center, guiding them in building essential job readiness and independence skills for life beyond school. With a manageable caseload of 12 students, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant, lasting difference by teaching not just in the classroom but also out in the community.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education licensure (must provide proof with application)
  • At least one year of classroom experience required
  • Strong collaborator and flexible team player
  • Background in writing and implementing IEPs and Behavior Support Plans (BSP)
  • Capable of collecting data and monitoring student progress
  • Passion for helping young adults navigate the transition to greater independence

Role Responsibilities:

  • Teach job readiness and independent living skills to special education students ages 18–21
  • Develop and deliver lessons both in-class and in community-based settings
  • Write and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans based on student needs
  • Maintain ongoing data collection and ensure compliance with all IEP requirements
  • Foster a supportive, empowering environment for students on their path toward adulthood
