Special Education Teacher | Bristol, Connecticut

Two contract positions are available for credentialed Special Education Teachers to work onsite in schools near Bristol, CT. Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Connecticut Special Education Teacher license and all necessary certifications
• Experience with CT-SEDS is preferred
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Previous classroom or school-based special education experience considered an asset

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student
• Facilitate lessons and activities aligned with special education best practices
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Monitor and document student progress, making timely adjustments as necessary
• Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment conducive to student success
• Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student development

Role Details:

• Assignments available at both a local central school (September 28 – December 23) and a nearby middle school (immediate start, with the end date to be determined)
• Full-time schedule, 35 hours per week
• All work performed onsite in welcoming school communities
