This full-time, contract position calls for passionate Special Education Resource Teachers ready to make a meaningful difference for K–7th grade students. Three experienced educators are needed to serve as: a Kindergarten Resource Teacher, a Grade 1–2 Resource Teacher, and a 7th Grade Resource/Case Manager. All roles require on-site availability near Bristol, CT.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous experience instructing K–7 students with diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills for working with students, colleagues, and families
- Adaptable and enthusiastic about supporting a diverse student population
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction and academic support to assigned students according to IEPs
- Modify curriculum and develop tailored lesson plans based on student goals
- Collaborate closely with general educators, related service providers, and families to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students within the school community
- Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations and documentation requirements
- Act as a case manager and coordinate services for students on your caseload
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, running Monday through Friday, August through June, with weekly hours ranging from 35–37.5.
