Special Education Teacher | Bristol, Connecticut

This full-time position offers a meaningful way to positively impact young learners in first and second grades. You’ll work Monday through Friday, putting in between 32.5 to 37.5 hours weekly, providing dedicated support to students who need it most.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (required)
• Experience with early elementary students, particularly 1st and 2nd grade, is highly valued
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for engaging students, families, and staff
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction to support academic and social growth
• Develop and implement IEPs in coordination with parents, specialists, and school team members
• Track student progress, assess needs, and adjust interventions as necessary
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and district requirements
• Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively provided
• Participate in faculty meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
