Grades K - 5 Grades 9 - 12 Special Education Teacher in Brookings, SD

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Experience teaching or supporting students in K–12 settings
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability across diverse grade levels

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with diverse learning needs
• Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate a variety of abilities
• Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction as needed
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, and families to ensure each student’s needs are met
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
