Special Education Teacher - Brooklyn, CT

Make an impact supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic and supportive environment. This contract opportunity runs through June 11, working primarily with students who have mild to moderate needs in an inclusion/resource setting. You'll have the chance to collaborate with passionate educators and help students achieve their academic and personal goals. The schedule is 7:15 AM – 2:30 PM, allowing you to engage with students during the most crucial hours of the school day.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in alignment with student IEPs
• Support students within both inclusion and resource room settings
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers and other support staff to develop effective strategies
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet evolving needs
• Ensure compliance with all state and local special education regulations and procedures

Qualifications:

• Active Connecticut Special Education Teacher Certification for Grades 9–12 (no provisional licenses)
• Experience working with mild to moderate special education caseloads preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Dedication to fostering inclusion and meeting diverse student needs
• Ability to maintain organized records and documentation in line with regulations
