Special Education Teacher in Broomfield, CO

Bring your passion for empowering students to a dynamic, contract Special Education opportunity located in the Broomfield, CO area. This full-time assignment involves working with young adults ages 18-21 at a transitions center, focusing on job readiness, independence, and real-world skills both in the classroom and the broader community. You’ll work directly with a caseload of 12 students, collaborating with a supportive team dedicated to meaningful outcomes.

Key Qualifications:

• At least one year of classroom experience, preferably in special education
• Current or in-progress CDE license required (active documentation must accompany application)
• Solid background in writing IEPs, developing Behavior Support Plans, collecting data, and implementing IEP requirements
• Ability to function collaboratively as a flexible, team-oriented educator
• Experience with transition-age students and job or life skills curriculum a plus

What You'll Do:

• Teach and support students in developing key job and independence skills through creative, engaging instruction
• Prepare and execute individualized education programs (IEPs), adapting instruction as needed
• Develop and monitor behavior support plans as appropriate
• Maintain accurate data collection for program evaluation and compliance
• Deliver instruction in both classroom and community-based settings (onsite only)
• Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment

This contract position is scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, full-time, with 37.5 total work hours per week (35 hours paid with 2.5 hours unpaid lunches). You’ll be part of a committed community ensuring that students build essential life and work skills for greater independence.
