Two contract opportunities are available: Life Skills Teacher and Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher. Both positions center on fostering student growth, independence, and academic success within small caseloads.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Indiana teaching certification in Special Education.
    • Moderate Intervention certification required for Life Skills Teacher.
    • Mild Intervention certification required for Structured Teach Teacher.
  • Previous experience teaching students with special needs is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Adaptability in implementing varied instructional strategies.
  • Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs.
  • Teach functional academics, life skills, and/or social skills, depending on assignment.
  • Provide structured, evidence-based support for students, including those on the autism spectrum (Structured Teach).
  • Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress and data.
  • Create and maintain a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with families, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

Position Details:

  • Life Skills Teacher: 7:20 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.; caseload of 10–15 students.
  • Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher: 8:20 a.m. – 4:10 p.m.; caseload of 10–15 students.
  • Contract role with strong support from colleagues and administration.
