This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher at the high school level for the 2025/2026 school year. The position is a full-time, in-person contract, working within a life skills classroom setting. The role involves supporting a small caseload of four students, with paraeducator assistance provided to help meet individual needs. This position requires a Maine 282 Special Education certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to life skills students.
- Collaborate with paraeducators to provide effective classroom support.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with families and education team members.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment conducive to student growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Maine 282 Special Education certification (required).
- Experience working with life skills or special education students at the high school level.
