You'll work a consistent 35–40 hours each week, with the flexibility to tailor your caseload to your strengths and preferred teaching style. Resource classroom teachers will manage groups of 15–20 students, while those specializing in 1:1 support will case-manage up to 8–10 students, ensuring a manageable and meaningful workload.
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education (282) Teaching License required
- Strong background in either resource-style classroom teaching or 1:1 special education support
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and develop positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learner needs
- Committed to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Deliver engaging instruction in both small-group and 1:1 settings
- Collaborate with fellow special education professionals, general educators, therapists, and families
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Support students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
