Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school environment
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to suit varying abilities and learning styles
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and interventions to students with a range of disabilities and needs
- Develop, review, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Track student progress toward IEP goals and regularly communicate updates to families and staff
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support personnel to coordinate services
- Employ evidence-based instructional strategies and accommodations
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school policy and special education regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and parent conferences
