Special Education Teacher | Bryson City, North Carolina

This contract position is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher ready to impact the lives of K-3 students with diverse needs. Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid Special Education Teacher license issued by the state of North Carolina
• Experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as implementing behavior management strategies, is preferred
• Comfortable assisting with toileting and diapering as needed
• Previous work with K-3 age students in self-contained classrooms is highly valued

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Delivering individualized instruction and support to a caseload currently ranging from four to five students, with a potential increase up to eight as enrollment grows
• Utilizing evidence-based practices to foster both academic and behavioral success
• Creating a welcoming learning atmosphere that encourages growth and positive relationships
• Collaborating with school staff, related service providers, and families to develop and monitor IEPs
• Providing hands-on assistance and ensuring students’ basic needs are met throughout the school day
• Adapting curriculum and activities to match students’ unique strengths and challenges

Position Details:

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–3:00 PM (35 hours per week)
• Location: Elementary setting in the Bryson City, NC area
• Contract role with opportunities for professional growth
