This contract position offers the opportunity to support approximately 20 students with varying needs, focusing on both academic achievement and life transitions such as graduation. The student caseload is manageable yet dynamic, requiring close involvement with transition plans and supplemental graduation services. You’ll collaborate with a passionate and experienced high school faculty dedicated to fostering student growth and success.
Your days will follow a consistent schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. As a vital part of the educational team, your role will encompass both administrative functions and direct interaction with students to guide them toward reaching their full potential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Texas Educator License with Special Education and Generalist/Core endorsements
- Experience with Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) processes, with confidence in attending and contributing to ARD meetings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to professional workplace attire, in line with the community’s dress code (modest visible tattoos, single natural hair color, limited ear piercings)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for high school students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor transition and graduation plans
- Participate fully in ARD meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Collaborate with educators, support staff, and parents to foster student progress
- Create a positive, inclusive, and equitable classroom environment
