Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting foundational learning and life skills for grades EC-6 in a close-knit classroom this upcoming 2026-2027 school year. Each day runs 7:45 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, offering a consistent 37.5-hour workweek and the chance to make a genuine impact with a small group of just five students—two of whom require greater functional support. This classroom cultivates growth and positive behaviors using a value system and reward-based reinforcement.

You’ll bring your strengths in personalized instruction while participating in important ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings. Collaboration and communication are essential, as you contribute insights that drive student success. There’s also an opportunity to complete SAMA (Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression) training onsite in October, further expanding your skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Texas Educator License with Special Education Endorsement.
  • Demonstrated ARD experience; skilled in attending and contributing to ARD meetings.
  • Enthusiastic about foundational instruction, life skills, and functional support.
  • Committed to following the school’s professional dress code and values for community—including restrictions on tattoos, hair color, attire, and piercings.
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate learning and life skills for a small class, adapting instruction for varied support needs.
  • Lead and model positive behavioral reinforcement, applying a structured value and reward system.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in ARD meetings, collaborating with staff and families.
