Key Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid certification to teach Special Education in Illinois
  • Previous experience working with K-8 students, adapting curriculum to diverse learning needs
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate student records
  • Strong classroom management and organizational abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction to K-8 students in alignment with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to modify coursework and provide inclusive learning experiences
  • Continuously monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments to interventions
  • Serve as an advocate and resource for students with special needs
  • Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment, supporting each student’s academic and social growth
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student successes and challenges
  • Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development activities
