Key Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid certification to teach Special Education in Illinois
- Previous experience working with K-8 students, adapting curriculum to diverse learning needs
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and external professionals
- Proficiency in maintaining detailed and accurate student records
- Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to K-8 students in alignment with IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify coursework and provide inclusive learning experiences
- Continuously monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments to interventions
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students with special needs
- Foster a positive, encouraging classroom environment, supporting each student’s academic and social growth
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student successes and challenges
- Participate in staff meetings, IEP meetings, and professional development activities
