A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support an elementary self-contained adaptive classroom. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and behavior management within a challenging student environment.
Location: This position is located onsite in Buford, GA, serving an elementary school setting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with special needs.
- Manage classroom behaviors, applying behavior intervention plans effectively.
- Participate in restraint training and apply physical restraint techniques when necessary to ensure student and staff safety.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and specialists to support student progress and well-being.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student development and behavior.
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) teaching license in Special Education.
- Proven experience in managing classrooms with challenging behaviors, preferably in behavior-focused settings.
- Ability to perform physical restraint techniques safely and professionally.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment.
Schedule and Term:
- Contract duration from February 23, 2026, through May 20, 2026.
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Onsite presence required.
