Make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students in need of intensive behavioral and academic guidance as a Special Education Teacher within the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program. This full-time contract opportunity is focused on helping students develop essential skills for success in and out of the classroom.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver specially designed instruction tailored for students in the GNETS program.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, accommodations, and supports.
  • Provide behavioral interventions and foster a positive behavior support system.
  • Collaborate closely with administrators, related service professionals, families, and support staff.
  • Monitor progress and maintain detailed compliance documentation.
  • Differentiate instruction across all core academic content areas (Reading, Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies).
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment for students with varied needs.

Key qualifications you’ll bring:

  • Active Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification, with the ability to teach all required academic subjects.
  • Proven skills in classroom management and behavior intervention strategies.
  • Experience developing and executing IEPs for students with significant social-emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Three professional references, including one from a current or recent supervisor.
  • (Preferred) Experience working with GNETS or in alternative settings, and training in CPI, de-escalation, or behavior management.
