In this pivotal role, you will:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with significant behavioral challenges
- Develop, implement, and document IEP goals, accommodations, and compliance paperwork
- Utilize behavior intervention strategies and positive behavior supports to encourage student growth
- Differentiate instruction across multiple academic content areas to meet individualized needs
- Collaborate closely with administrators, related service providers, families, and support staff
- Maintain a structured, nurturing, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning
- Monitor student progress and communicate proactively with all stakeholders
To be considered, please demonstrate:
- Valid Georgia certification in Special Education General Curriculum—with certification in all required academic subject areas
- Proficiency in classroom management and knowledge of behavior intervention strategies
- Experience in drafting and implementing IEPs
- Three completed reference checks, including one from a recent supervisor such as a principal, assistant principal, or coordinator
Preferred qualifications include:
- Prior experience in a GNETS setting or alternative education environment
- Familiarity supporting students with emotional and behavioral disorders
- Training in CPI, de-escalation, or advanced behavior management strategies
