Qualifications & Experience Sought:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (North Carolina or eligible for reciprocity)
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including resource support or adaptive/self-contained settings
• Effective classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive environment
• Strong communication abilities with parents, staff, and administrators
• Flexibility and the ability to adjust to varying classroom needs
• Eagerness to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Adapt general education curriculum to support student-specific learning goals
• Provide direct instruction and support based on defined student needs
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers and support personnel
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Communicate regularly with families to share updates and gather input
• Foster a respectful, welcoming classroom culture for all learners
