You'll have the unique chance to provide compensatory services to a non-verbal first-grade student with self-injurious behaviors. With a total of 300 service hours to be completed, you'll work closely with the student in their home environment, making a meaningful impact on their educational and personal development. The schedule is flexible—hours are fulfilled based on the student's needs and progress. Virtual instruction may be considered depending on structure and student compatibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Adapted Curriculum K-12 teaching license required
- Demonstrated experience working with children who have significant communication needs, preferably in a home or individualized setting
- Expertise implementing evidence-based interventions and differentiated instructional strategies
- Strong background in managing and supporting students exhibiting behavioral challenges, including self-injurious behaviors
- Ability to coordinate with families, therapists, and school personnel to provide holistic support
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and compensatory services to the assigned student
- Adapt and modify curriculum content to meet individualized needs
- Develop and implement behavior management and sensory strategies
