Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners in a dedicated, self-contained special education classroom. This position begins August 25, 2026, and continues through June 2027, offering full-time hours from 8:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. You'll work closely with a small caseload of 5-8 students in PK-2nd grade who have severe, multiple, physical, medical, and global developmental delays. Providing individualized instructional strategies, you’ll also take a hands-on role in assisting with full personal care needs, including diaper changing and hygiene.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Active Massachusetts Special Education License required
- Experience working with students who have significant disabilities, including those needing high-level personal care
- Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans for a sub-separate/self-contained classroom environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive educational environment for early learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction targeting IEP goals within a supportive, small-group setting
- Provide daily support with feeding, mobility, toileting, and personal hygiene as required by student needs
- Maintain accurate documentation on student progress, behavior, and health-related interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic, behavioral, and medical supports
- Participate in regular staff meetings, family conferences, and school-based events as needed
