Special Education Teacher - Burlington, Vermont

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with autism and significant behavioral needs
• Understanding of self-contained classroom settings
• Skill in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to student needs
• Strong teamwork abilities to collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers
• Effective communication skills with students, families, and staff

Role Responsibilities:

• Create individualized lesson plans and adapt curricula for each student based on their IEP goals
• Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavioral supports
• Collaborate closely with five dedicated paraprofessionals to ensure consistent supports throughout the day
• Track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
• Partner with families, therapists, and administrators to foster student growth and engagement
• Provide a positive, safe, and structured learning environment

This contract role offers compensation in the range of $85 to $90 per hour for travel professionals.
