Desired qualifications and background:

• Valid state certification in Special Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Prior experience in a special education classroom or comparable setting
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet a variety of learning needs

Key responsibilities will include:

• Designing and delivering engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ unique strengths and challenges
• Developing, implementing, and reviewing IEPs in collaboration with colleagues and families
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instructional techniques as necessary
• Maintaining a supportive, structured classroom that fosters social, emotional, and academic growth
• Partnering with general education teachers, therapists, and other specialists to ensure holistic support for students
• Communicating regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student achievement and goals
• Staying current with best practices in special education and engaging in professional development
