Special Education Teacher - Burnet, Texas

Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in a life-skills program for grades 2 through 5. Key Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education certification
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, specifically with life-skills programs
• Strong background as a case manager, including IEP development and compliance
• Proficient in using educational management platforms, particularly for IEP documentation
• SAMA (restraint certification) or willingness to train in SAMA protocols
• Dedicated to collaboration and teamwork with paraprofessionals, therapists, and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Facilitate instruction for elementary students in a life-skills classroom setting
• Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as the designated case manager
• Serve as the frontline contact for IEP processes, documentation, and communication
• Collaborate closely with support staff to ensure student safety and maximize learning potential
• Perform daily dismissal duty after school, with potential support from paraprofessional staff
• Maintain compliance with district and state regulations regarding student support and safety
• Implement behavior intervention strategies aligned with SAMA training as needed
