A Special Education Teacher position is available for a contract during the current school year at an elementary school in Burnsville, MN. This role involves working with Mild/Moderate Special Education students from kindergarten through 5th grade in both push-in and pull-out classroom settings, supporting approximately 7 students with the assistance of two paraprofessionals.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering individualized instruction tailored to each student’s unique learning needs.
- Writing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborating with paraprofessionals and related services staff to support student development.
- Managing classroom activities effectively for grades K-5.
- Tracking and reporting student progress to meet academic and behavioral goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Tier 3 Minnesota Department of Education License in Special Education.
- Proven experience or training in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong knowledge of special education teaching strategies for Mild/Moderate disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team to support student learning.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:15 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling approximately 37.5 to 40 hours per week.
