Embark on a meaningful contract assignment providing transformative support to young learners in a specialized classroom setting. This rewarding opportunity near Burnsville, MN, runs from ASAP through June 11th, with a potential extension into the Extended School Year (ESY) program.
You'll work in an ASD and EBD classroom composed of five energetic students in grades 1 through 3, most of whom are at grade level in Math and receiving targeted reading interventions. Four of these learners have dedicated 1:1 paraprofessionals, and the classroom focus centers around supporting social-emotional development. As the lead educator, you'll have the chance to leverage your expertise and positively impact kids who thrive on compassionate structure and adaptive instruction.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification (Tier 2 or Tier 3).
- Endorsements or experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Emotional Behavior Disorders (EBD) strongly preferred.
- Prior success in self-contained or resource special education classrooms.
- Experience implementing social-emotional learning strategies for elementary students.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with paraprofessionals and related service providers.
- Passion for adapting academic and behavioral interventions to support diverse learning needs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and interventions in a supportive, engaging environment.
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals to optimize classroom structure and student growth.
- Monitor progress and document student achievements toward IEP goals.
- Administer and adjust reading interventions and Math instruction as needed.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom atmosphere.
This contract assignment follows school hours of 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting both work-life balance and immersive classroom engagement.
