Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, MN

Make a meaningful difference in elementary education as a Special Education Teacher on-site for the 2025/2026 academic year. You’ll support a dedicated Charter school with a total student body of approximately 100, focusing on a manageable caseload of K-6th grade students. In this role, you'll foster personal and academic growth in a close-knit environment, working collaboratively with staff and families to create an inclusive, supportive classroom.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Valid Special Education Teaching License (SPED)
• OR a General Education candidate with significant SPED experience holding a PELSB Gen Ed License (T2-T4); eligibility to complete an out-of-field form to teach Special Education
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with young learners and their families
• Ability to develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Experience using evidence-based instructional and behavioral support strategies
• Organizational skills for managing documentation and progress tracking

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering tailored instruction to small groups of K-6th grade special education students
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized goals and educational plans
• Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to optimize student outcomes
• Maintaining accurate student records and compliance documentation
• Cultivating a positive, inclusive classroom culture that encourages growth and confidence
• Participating in team and IEP meetings to support holistic student development
