Step into an impactful opportunity as an onsite Special Education Teacher for the 25/26 school year at a vibrant charter school. Located in the St. Paul area, you’ll work closely with a small student body (around 100 students schoolwide), focusing on supporting elementary learners from kindergarten through sixth grade. This contract role offers a unique chance to create meaningful relationships and deliver personalized learning assistance to students who benefit from your expertise and compassion.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Special Education Teaching License (SPED), or
  • General Education experience with a PELSB License (T2-T4) and willingness to complete an out-of-field form for this assignment
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-6th grade students, particularly in special education settings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a small, close-knit community school

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and small-group instruction to elementary students with a range of learning needs
  • Develop, implement, and adapt IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
  • Partner with classroom teachers to support inclusion and differentiated instruction
  • Track and document student growth and progress, maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Cultivate trusting relationships to encourage student success and participation
  • Engage in professional growth and ongoing communication with school staff
