Special Education Teacher in Burnsville, MN

This contract position runs from August 24, 2026, through May 28, 2027, with a 35-hour-per-week schedule.

You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, supporting students with diverse and complex needs. This position emphasizes on-site presence only—no virtual or hybrid options—allowing you to fully engage with students and their learning environments. Specific openings include three roles at a middle school, two as resource teachers and one in the RISE program.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current Minnesota Teaching Credential with a Special Education license specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (tier 3 or 4)
• Background working with students in special programs at any age level
• Adaptability and skill in managing various caseloads within resource and specialized settings
• Commitment to collaborative, student-centered support
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans for students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment tailored to varying learning needs
• Collaborate with resource and program staff to maximize student successes
• Maintain documentation and work closely with families and support personnel
• Remain flexible and responsive to program and student needs
