Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching credential (Tier 3 or 4 license), with Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities endorsement.
  • Experience working with students in special education settings preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and other professionals to support student success.
  • Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction, support, and services for students in special programs, tailored to individual needs across all grade levels.
  • Prepare and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in compliance with educational policies and best practices.
  • Complete required documentation, assessments, and progress reports regularly.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to address educational, social, and behavioral needs.
  • For Sanburg Middle School placements, support either resource rooms or RISE-specific programs.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment where student growth, self-advocacy, and independence are promoted.
