Special Education Teacher in Burnsville, MN

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Special Education Teachers specializing in Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. Multiple contract positions are available for the 2026-2027 academic year, supporting essential programs across age groups.

Responsibilities:

• Provide engaging, individualized instruction to students identified with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Design and implement effective lesson plans that accommodate students’ IEP goals
• Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and family members to ensure comprehensive support and learning
• Adapt and modify the curriculum to meet unique student learning styles and needs
• Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment
• Maintain accurate, timely records and participate in IEP meetings
• Uphold confidentiality and professional standards in all student matters

Requirements:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (Tier 3 or 4 required)
• Experience working within special education settings at any school age level
• Demonstrated ability to manage diverse caseloads
• Commitment to on-site instruction (remote/virtual instruction is not an option)
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
• Ability to start August 17, 2026 and work through May 28, 2027, 35 hours per week
• Willingness to provide required documentation (resume, license verification, supervisor reference)
