Step into a meaningful role supporting the success of diverse learners by working as a Special Education Teacher within a center-based program for the 2026–2027 school year. Multiple positions are available to serve students whose primary support needs relate to behavioral challenges and cross-categorical disabilities. These opportunities focus on dynamic middle school resources and specialized programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD), with placements at both elementary and middle school levels.
Ideal candidates excel in collaborative environments and are skilled in implementing behavioral strategies and individualized education plans. You’ll help establish effective classroom routines, support paraprofessionals, and work closely with both special education and general education staff to ensure a seamless learning experience for all students.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in one or more of the following:
- Special Education: Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Special Education: Developmental Disabilities
- Special Education: Early Childhood
- Special Education: Emotional Behavioral Disorders
- Special Education: Learning Disabilities
- Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS license not required but welcomed)
- Demonstrated experience with behavioral support plans and cross-categorical student populations
- Comprehensive understanding of effective classroom structures and instructional techniques
- Reliable attendance and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Proven ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary colleagues
Position Details & Responsibilities:
- Full-time, onsite contract: 37.5 hrs/week, August 17, 2026 – June 3, 2027
- Provide instruction in resource or center-based settings for middle school and elementary students
- Design and implement individualized supports based on each student’s unique needs
- Support and guide paraprofessionals in daily routines and student support
- Foster an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere centered on student growth and well-being
