Make a difference in the lives of K-12 students as a Special Education Teacher specializing in support for students with physical and health disabilities. This contract role spans the 2026-2027 school year and will focus on empowering students by making education accessible and inclusive.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education license with Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement
  • Proven experience in consulting on curriculum modifications and classroom accessibility
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies for physical and health impairments
  • Strong background in conducting functional evaluations and writing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general educators
  • Experience supporting students across K-12 settings
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver itinerant support to staff and students through classroom visits, consults, and hands-on recommendations for accessibility and curriculum adjustments
  • Assess students' unique needs through thorough functional evaluations, supporting the development and ongoing management of IEPs
  • Facilitate communication and collaborative planning among related service providers, general education teachers, and families
  • Provide professional input on assistive technologies to enhance learning access and student independence
  • Monitor student progress and make data-driven recommendations for service delivery adjustments

This contract position is on-site and requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week during the academic year, from late August 2026 to late May 2027.
