Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, MN

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification with a Physical and Health Disabilities (P/HD) endorsement required
• Experience with functional evaluations, IEP writing, and monitoring student progress
• Background supporting students across all K-12 grade levels
• Familiarity with due process documentation and compliance
• Strong collaboration skills for working with occupational therapists, physical therapists, and general education staff
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Availability for full-time, on-site work throughout the 2026–2027 academic year

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver itinerant support, conducting consultations with staff on curriculum modifications, classroom accessibility, and the integration of assistive technology
• Manage due process requirements by assessing student needs, authoring IEPs, and ensuring progress tracking is accurate and up to date
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams, including related service providers and classroom teachers, to promote student achievement and participation
• Provide ongoing guidance to staff to create inclusive educational environments
• Champion individualized support across the district
