Key Qualifications:
- Current state certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Ability to adapt instruction and provide differentiated support
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and school staff
- Knowledge of special education laws and compliance procedures
- Compassion and flexibility to respond to student needs and diverse abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Create, review, and modify IEPs to address student goals and progress
- Deliver specialized instruction in individual, small group, and inclusive classroom settings
- Assess student abilities, monitor growth, and document academic and behavioral progress
- Consult and collaborate regularly with general educators, therapists, administrators, and families
- Implement behavioral intervention plans, accommodations, and assistive technology as needed
- Contribute to multidisciplinary teams and support positive classroom environments
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
