Special Education Teacher | Burnsville, Minnesota

This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time for the entire school year, supporting multicategorical students in a focused, individualized setting. You'll work primarily with 1-2 students at a time, addressing the unique needs of those with a range of disabilities.

The school day runs from 8am-4pm, allowing you to structure targeted interventions and tailor instruction for students who need it most. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in either high school reading or math and be passionate about helping teens achieve academic success and personal growth.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with diverse disabilities at the secondary level
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies in reading or math
• Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to high school students, primarily one-on-one or in very small groups
• Customize lessons targeting reading or math, based on student needs and IEP goals
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust instructional plans as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
• Maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing learning environment
