Special Education Teacher - Burnsville, Minnesota

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within a high school or center-based program
• Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Passion and commitment for supporting learners with unique needs
• Ability to adapt and respond to dynamic classroom situations
• Must be available for on-site instruction (virtual/remote not supported for this role)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with developmental cognitive disabilities
• Deliver engaging, tailored lessons in a center-based classroom focused on student growth and skill-building
• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student support
• Track student progress, document outcomes, and update IEPs as needed
• Maintain a positive and structured learning environment
• Support students in meeting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
• Communicate regularly and constructively with parents/guardians
