Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Minnesota Teaching Credential in Special Education: Developmental Cognitive Disabilities
- Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably within a high school or center-based program
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Excellent collaboration and communication with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Passion and commitment for supporting learners with unique needs
- Ability to adapt and respond to dynamic classroom situations
- Must be available for on-site instruction (virtual/remote not supported for this role)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with developmental cognitive disabilities
- Deliver engaging, tailored lessons in a center-based classroom focused on student growth and skill-building
- Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure holistic student support
- Track student progress, document outcomes, and update IEPs as needed
- Maintain a positive and structured learning environment
- Support students in meeting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals
- Communicate regularly and constructively with parents/guardians
