Special Education Teacher | Burnsville, Minnesota

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Minnesota teaching license through PELSB (Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board)
• Experience teaching or supporting students with special needs, preferably in grades 1–8
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs), case management, and due process documentation
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom atmosphere

Essential Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, small-group, and individualized instruction to a caseload of approximately 5–8 students in grades 1–8
• Oversee case management, ensuring compliance with all procedures and documentation related to due process
• Develop, review, and implement IEPs in collaboration with families, students, and school teams
• Monitor student progress, adjust instruction as needed, and regularly report on growth and needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all state and federal regulations related to special education
