Step into a rewarding role supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments in a vibrant school environment near Cambridge, MA. This full-time, onsite contract position runs from 8:00AM to 2:30PM, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 25, 2026. As a Special Education Teacher, you’ll collaborate with a dedicated team to provide individualized instruction, develop IEPs, and foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere at the elementary level.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts teaching license in Moderate or Severe Disabilities
- Prior experience in a school-based setting
- Expertise working with students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- CORI background check and fingerprints (a letter of suitability from a previous employer may be utilized for fingerprints)
- Prepared for a virtual interview via Zoom
- Ability to work onsite for the entirety of the assignment
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and modify lesson plans based on individual IEP goals
- Deliver direct instruction, adapt curriculum, and apply effective behavioral strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families
- Track progress, maintain records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Support a positive and inclusive learning climate for all students
- Communicate progress and concerns with parents and other stakeholders
