Exciting contract opportunity available for an experienced Special Education Teacher passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners with severe and multiple disabilities. This position provides a structured and supportive environment, working with a small group of 5 to 8 students in a self-contained classroom setting for Pre-K through 2nd grade. The classroom serves students with complex needs, including physical, medical, and global developmental delays, and requires a strong commitment to hands-on personal care, including diaper changing and full support for daily living activities.
Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Massachusetts Special Education License (required)
- Previous experience with students facing severe, multiple, and/or physical disabilities is highly valued
- Confidence and competence in providing personal and medical support, including toileting and hygiene care
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities when working with students, staff, and families
- Flexible, patient, and compassionate approach to individualized instruction and care
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct special education services in a structured, sub-separate (self-contained) classroom environment
- Adapt and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address academic, behavioral, and daily living needs
- Manage a caseload of 5–8 students, focusing on each child’s unique strengths and challenges
- Provide full personal care support throughout the school day, including assistance with feeding, mobility, and hygiene
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring medical and behavioral protocols are followed
- Collaborate with related service providers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as required
Position Details and Perks:

- 35 hours per week (8:00am–3:00pm, Monday–Friday)
