Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
  • Experience or strong interest in working within a Developmental Learning Classroom environment
  • Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitoring
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Adaptability and a creative approach to lesson planning and instruction
  • Passion for supporting diverse learners and collaborating with colleagues, families, and specialists

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and adapt instruction for students with a range of developmental needs in accordance with IEP goals
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom culture
  • Collaborate with other educators, related service providers, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress and strategies for continued growth at home
  • Track data and document student progress, making data-driven instructional decisions
  • Participate in IEP meetings and help develop effective strategies tailored to each student's strengths and areas of need
