What makes you a strong candidate:

  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in public or private school settings
  • Proficiency in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies to accommodate various learning styles
  • Demonstrated ability to write and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with co-teaching, self-contained, and resource classroom models
  • Excellent communication skills for partnering with families, students, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education, or eligibility for certification

What you’ll do:

  • Lead instruction in your designated classroom model (self-contained, co-teaching, or resource)
  • Develop, write, and implement IEPs while managing compliant case files
  • Assess student progress, adjusting instruction and supports as needed
  • Foster inclusive, supportive learning communities that promote each student’s abilities
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
  • Engage families in goal-setting and ongoing communication
