In this full-time role, you’ll be part of a co-teaching model, working alongside general education staff to instruct and empower a diverse caseload of approximately 10–15 students. With a primary focus on supporting students with Other Health Impairments, learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments, your impact helps ensure every learner can succeed academically and socially.
Key Requirements:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license in Maryland
- Experience working in school-based settings is desirable
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and update individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted specialized instruction and academic interventions
- Provide services using both push-in and pull-out strategies, with most instruction occurring in general education classrooms
- Collaborate daily with general education teachers and related service staff
- Track student progress, manage documentation, and communicate consistently with families
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports student growth
