Special Education Teacher in Cambridge, MD

An exciting opportunity awaits for a Special Education Teacher eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of early childhood learners. This role offers the chance to provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, primarily within inclusive general education classrooms. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 14, 2027, offering stability and the potential to deeply impact students’ growth over several years.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification
• Experience in early childhood education is highly valued
• Skilled in supporting students with Other Health Impairments (OHI), learning disabilities, autism, and language impairments
• Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching strategies
• Strong collaboration skills, able to partner with general education teachers and related service providers
• Effective communicator, adept at engaging with families and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instructional support to students in the general education setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for a fluid caseload, typically serving 10-15 students at a time
• Adapt lessons and interventions to address diverse learning needs and abilities
• Track progress and maintain detailed documentation aligned with compliance requirements
• Communicate regularly with families and support student transitions and inclusion
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices
