Special Education Teacher | Camden Wyoming, Delaware

You'll work 37.5 hours per week alongside dedicated paraprofessionals and other educators who share your commitment to student development. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering a positive and inclusive classroom climate for children exhibiting mild to moderate and moderate to severe behavioral needs.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working with elementary-aged students (K-5), ideally in self-contained settings
• Strong understanding of behavioral management strategies and IEP implementation
• Collaborative mindset to partner effectively with paraprofessionals and other school staff
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for supporting students with unique learning and behavioral needs
• Excellent communication skills to engage with students, families, and team members

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students’ individual education plans
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages student engagement and achievement
• Develop and implement behavioral and instructional strategies addressing both academic and social-emotional growth
• Work closely with paraprofessionals, supporting their roles in the classroom and modeling effective practices
• Track and report student progress, collaborating with families and other specialists as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insight to support each student’s educational journey
